They might not pay for wall damage in basement. Because it's a inner wall. Est to fix it $9300.But connected to outer wall. Not happy a bit.
KK I'm so sorry to hear this. You must be about pushed to the limit. It is hard to do anything with these darned insurance cos. I always say"this too shall pass" but I hope not to the tune of $9000+. I almost feel guilty for enjoying near perfect summer weather, here. Take care of yourselves & watch out for those mosquitos. My friend has West Nile virus & has been very sick. sewNsow
Keep after them--don't let them off the hook! Get estimates, call or e-mail the main office, let everyone know you are not happy and want them to pay for the damage. You may not get the full $9000, but something is better than nothing. Good luck, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
This is Government Flood insurance. It was funny yesterday. Our House insurance lady faxed the long list. And had web-site to call also. They printed wrong phone number. It was Phone porn. She got beat red and Said Oh My
Insurance is the art of deception to make people think that they are protected against a possible eventuality.
Most insurances are scams... They OUGHT to pay for it. SHAME on them. The BBB is just a joke too, from what I have read on the news of late. Can you contact your state rep and see if he can get them to pay for it? That is all I can think of. Inner walls can be load bearing walls, and vital to structural integrity. Is there someone who knows about such things that can help out getting them to pay ? It is likely supporting your first floor. More if you have a multi story home.
I'm sending letter to State rep. Election time you get -emails right back from them. One is good friend of good friend and customer. But Insurance Rep-said to take even more picture of wall.
They are sending out engineer to look at wall. But I have worked in building business. Can see this inner wall woven in with outer wall. I feel for woman her basement no cement floor. And she was flooded by Iowa River. Our was flash flood from creek. She says stinks so bad
Engineer coming Friday.Another cement foundation guy looked. Will send a bid. Lot of people wall damage. One was a couple months old.
When government engineer was here. Spent very little time in basement.Said "wanted to check how much wall was LEANING". Heck some laying Flat on floor. In a pile of mud. My Congressman -said inner walls Are covered. But spraying even more Cleaning bleach. fans going 24-7 Got another bid $6500. And when they was here ran a level every part of house. Even new section and garage. :?:
I cannot believe how much you have gone through with engineers, bids, and estimates. This has to be a horror story for you! All we can do is hope that the mess is cleaned up soon; that you get help where and when you need it; and that very soon everything will be back to somewhat normal for you.
You need to stay on top if it. Don't give up till you get satisfaction. I am so sorry you are going through all this.
It helps to have one of my customer a writer. good friends with Congressman. Adjuster said sending check for damage things in garage. breezeway. Scraper coming to take wood . Had electric heat panels replaced..burner out of basement
