Can I save my Blackberry cane

    It's turning black, leaves and berries have died and shriveled. I don't know why! See the cane has completely blackened up near the berries.

    Looks like it could be a fungus of some sort !! We had something similar on out fruit trees last year !! I did not notice it on my blackberry canes though !! I bought some Captan Anti Fungal and sprayed all mine early this year and have not seen any sign of it this year !! Captan is carried at most garden stores and feed stores !! You can try to spray the cane with the antifungal and see if it comes back but chances are you will have to prune all the affected parts off !! I would spray first 2 weeks apart and just wait and see !! Then decide on pruning !! Good Luck !!!
