Is there a big bulb in that pot? It could be an amaryllis.

The leaves do look thick like Amaryllis...if it is you need to put it in more sun so it can bloom.

I agree. It's an amaryllis, Phyllis.

Sorry I always want to make that rhyme. My collection of about 3 dozen amaryllis are my only houseplants, so my poor husband has to hear me make that meaningless rhyme all the time. Actually, mine are only in the house while they bloom. Otherwise they are outdoors gathering sunshine to build up the bulb for next year's bloom, or in the dark cool basement overwintering in near dormancy.

Yep! I'm thinking amaryllis too :p That's about what mine looks like. It was absolutely beautiful and I'm hoping it blooms again next Christmas. Right now it is sitting in my garden shed saving up it's energy.
