The difference of the one being brighter is that the sun was out in one and I took the others on a gloomy day before rain here...
Sherry I'm not familiar with either brown headed cowbirds or female red winged blackbirds but after looking at piccies on the net I'd plump for the cowbird.
Hey Sherry, I can tell you it definately is NOT a red winged blackbird. We have many of those here and the females are more spotted looking. But it does look like the female cowbird. We have the brown headed cowbirds here and they look like your pics. My book matches up to your pics. Pic #2 looks like a different bird to me. Is that just the lighting? Or maybe that one could be an juvenal cowbird. Comparing it to my bird book, but it may just be the lighting in your pics.
The 3 grayer ones are female brown headed cowbirds.the second picture is something different. Is it the same size as the cowbirds? The 2 species, red wings & cows often socialize with each other as well as starlings and grackles.
