I love my recycle list...some of you are members of freecycle so you know what I am referring to.

Last week a lady posted an Offer of Tropicana Canna's that she was dividing. I emailed and asked for 5-10 of them and at the same time I was emailing her she was emailing me about an Offer I had posted. Since she was the only one who had responded in the week the offer had been on the list it worked out really nice for both of us.
We live on opposite sides of the county so met in the middle Friday afternoon and gave me a bag of at least 18.

Finally figured out where I wanted them this morning. Had to soak the soil for almost about 15 minutes before I could dig into the hard clay we have. There should be some new growth breaking ground in a couple of weeks since there were several new ones starting to grow already.

My cannas were free, too. I think the bud has opened enough to see that they will be a deep yellow with red splotches. Only one flower stalk so far. dooley

I think that's very best way to get plants for your garden - trading with someone or getting them absolutely free!! :-D Do take piccies of yours again Toni when they start to put out new growth. Have you any idea what colour of flowers they will have in time?

Freecycle is a great idea, I've the Stew to be able to do something similar when the community gets really large. Could be a possibility :)

Keep us updated on the growth Toni!

They have burgundy leaves with red blooms, should be really striking when they mature.

They certainly sound as though they are going to be beautiful Toni. I hope they do well for you. :-D
