I went for a short walk around the neighbourhood to escape the dust and rat-a-tat-tat that was going on in my place. Just round the corner I saw this strange thing hanging from the trunk of a tree.

The flowers from the tree are beautiful and pleasantly scented.

Did you check to see if they weighed as much as a cannon ball? The flower is gorgeous.

Weird tree, as long as there are not any cannon ball gathering squirrels. Seeing all those flowers must be a treat.

What beautiful flowers. Now I am sure those cannonballs must be good for some type of crafts projects...are they more of a fruit or a nut?

Those cannonballs are very heavy and really solid. I took some pictures in Hawaii. I'm loaded and ready to fight.

Very interesting, never seen anything like them. I wonder what a split section of one of those cannonballs looks like?

Thanks Kildale! That's an interesting colour within, not what I expected.

    Well I never!!
What a strange tree. I've never seen anything like it and am totally intrigued by it. The blossom is beautiful but those 'cannonballs' are very strange. I'm presuming that the fruit isn't actually edible. Are you going to collect some of the seed and try growing one for yourself?

That is amazing--beautiful flowers, and then cannonballs!
In a high wind, that tree could turn into a bombardment machine.

Sorry Toni I did not ... was afraid that it might explode!!! :D :D

Yes Barb they are pretty :)

    They are fruits Jewell.

Wow!!! Kildale your cannonballs are enough to arm an army ... I surrender :D :D

Thanks Kildale for answering Frank's question and my curiosity too. I have not seen the inside too, there was a fallen fruit but it had dried up.

Eileen the fruit is edible but smell bad and no I am not going to plant it because of very limited space.

    You are welcome Cherylad.

    Marlingardener :D :D :D

    You are welcome Green Fingers.
