Hi folks, I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this topic, but I'm here now. Does anyone know anything about a carbon sequestration project in Marin County, California? I have heard about it but cannot find any details about the project's background, methodologies or outcomes, other than that carbon is being locked up in the soil profile on disused farmland. I am interested in this because as I understand it, carbon locked in soil is up to 100 times more effective than that sequestered through tree planting and other 'traditional' methods. It has never been trialed here in Australia and given the poor state of much of our farmland and marginal agricultural practices, it would seem to be a much more productive use of land and provide a sustainable new industry for tired farmers. If anyone has any infoon the California project, I would be grateful for any links, contacts etc. Thanks in advance, Earthworm :-D
