We had a big snow for East Tennessee...5 inches. The cardinals stayed around the feeders for most of the day. I did not get much done, I kept looking out the window and snapping photos. Here are a few of the several hundred I took the last two days. The cardinals look so beautiful with the contrast of the snow. Enjoy. :-D Cardinals in the snow ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) Female Cardinal cutie ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) Cardinal pair ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden )
Fantastic photographing gfreiherr! Great shots of the male in flight. Both the male and female are such pretty birds :-D Thanks for sharing.I enjoyed seeing them
They really are pretty birds, aren't they? The little female IS a cutie pie. Your photos are lovely, so nice to look at. Stay warm in the snow. We just got a couple of inches here. Two hour delay of school.
Gosh don't those cardinals stand out well against the snow?!! Wonderful photography Gail - especially the ones of the male in flight. :-D I know Christmas is all over and done with but that first picture would make a beautiful card.
Your photos are always a source of joy! I agree, any of your cardinal photos would make great Christmas cards. Enjoy your rare snow, and the photo opportunities it affords!
Great fotos from you again. Those birds are such lovely birds. ....several hundred fotos? Om Goodness! Well, you had alot to choose from then. Avctually that sounds like me...I take lots and lots, since I went to digital cameras. With the old SLR's to make diapositives, I had to me much more frugal, and development was an expensive undrertaking.
Thank you all for your kind comments. The cardinals are one of my favorite birds. They must be use to me sitting at the window taking photographs because they are spending more time around the feeders and roosting in the trees nearby. I am sure the snow, frozen ground and cold temperatures are forcing them to the feeders. I took a lot more today, I will post some when I get a chance.
