Why do I get this strange feeling, as if this Caterpillar is mocking me? Because I swear he or she looks exactly like me, when I used to thumb my nose at my teachers in school...

The top end I believe, as that's where I saw it chewing on the leaves. It also is from where he or she is sticking out it's feelers at me - No doubt as a gesture of challenging my authority! :)

Oh he is very cute. I wonder what kind he is. I think his rear is up. OMG! I love him, I want to kiss him.

I myself am not sure what type it is. But usually, my garden is often visited by the Orange colored African Monarch Butterfly. I had taken a few pictures of them before - Here is what they look like.

Nice pictures, one colorful butterfly. Do they migrate like the North American Monarchs?

No, I don't think they live for more then 10 or 12 days. So doubt if they can migrate from one portion of the country to another. Whereas the North American Monarch can exist for a little over a year.

I'm not sure I'd want to kiss the caterpilar like Barb but he is rather adorable isn't he? Great photographs of your butterfly S-H.

I find the caterpillar very charming, bursting with personality! :D I wouldn't mind having them around here, especially not when I see the butterfly it turns into.

Great pictures like others have said. I love the color of the caterpillar with it's cute antenna with the red spots on the ends. The butterfly is gorgeous. :stew1:

Will you watch it closely until it turns into a butterfly?
