Caterpillar of Ecpantheria scribonia - Giant Leopard Moth

    These moth caterpillars are showing up again. This one was on the ground in the shade garden I was planting Caladium and Hosta in today. I picked up some brush and found him all curled up.
    He just really didn't want to be photographed, but he has red body sections between the large black fuzzy ones.

    What a cutie! :D I'd have loved to have those around. On the other hand I wouldn't get anything done since I probably would sit and admire them all day long.

    I had to look up a photo of the leopard moth...interesting looking moth. I have never seen one before. Thanks for sharing.
