Well, my plans have changed. I will not have my garden this year. Due to recent health problems both of my grandparents are taking strong blood thinners. Now the family says it is too dangerous for them to work like they used to in their garden. I agreed to take on a big role in theirs so no more garden for me. Instead of working my 30x50ft garden I'll be working their 100x200ft garden plus their 1/2 acre pea patch. I hope I didn't get in over my head. This year I'll try to post pictures.

Hi there Griphook. I am so sorry to hear about your grans. I hope that they do get better.
That is a great responsibility to take on and my well wishes goes with you and your gardening attempts. It is quite a big area that you will be gardening - exciting and daunting at the same time.
I will be watching out for the pictures. :stew2:

A big responsibility indeed. I hope you'll enjoy working their big garden, and I hope your grandparents will be able to potter about with you too. They probably have lots of knowledge to share. Good luck with the garden, and please do post some photos.

What a large garden. What will you be growing in it? And are there any family members you can enlist to help you?

They grow a little of everything. Lots of sweet corn, peas, green beans, greens, tomatoes, onions, squash, melons, potatoes, basically everything common in this area. Grandad promised to give me room to plant my peanuts and tomatos. He used to plant peanuts but can't eat them now because of digestive problems. He grows lots of hybrid toms, but I grow heirlooms I start from seed.

My word Griphook, what a task you have taken on, sounds as if you are going to be very busy. Good luck with it and also best wishes to your Grandparents, I do hope things get better for them. Look forward to the photos.

Sorry to hear your grandparents will be limited in their garden and you are a prince to help them grow their veggies. Good luck in your project and those tomato seeds will be on the way.

Your grandparents must be so proud of you Griphook and must really appreciate all the help you're going to give them with their garden. It's a big responsibility but I have a feeling you'll cope well. :stew1:
