I made a really big decision yesterday and that is, from this day forward, i am no longer to be known as "mum".Over the bank holiday, we counted how many times my 13 year old shouted "mum" and it totalled 113!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I know what you mean Catkin. My youngest is almost 19 and the oldest is almost 39 and still to this day when I am in a store and hear someone call "Mom" I stop and look around.
It never leaves you does it! I told her last night, " right thats it, im changing my name!!" she said " what do you answer to now then ??" i said " im not telling you!!!" she was in fits of giggles
LOL My mom said the samething! LOL When all the kida are home for the holidays, if we call to her all at once she will yell back, "SHES NOT HERE! LEAVE A MESSAGE AFTER THE BEEP!" lol
Dad gets me the same way. As a primary school teacher I often used to answer to Dad then. Mind when one little girl stood next to me and said "Mum,er Dad, er Miss! Oh bugger it!" and walked away I did not turn round to see who it was in case she saw me laughing!
Weird thing is, no matter where you live, ALL mums say the same things!!! Must be in mums genes. My mum STILL tells me " your not to big to go over my knee" Only now dare i answer " yeah but you gotta catch me first"
Ha! Yes - I was just thinking something similar about the cat on the record. :-D I work at a school, so everytime there's anything going on if a child hollers "Mom!" all these heads turn as all the moms respond.
