Am currently trying to decide on colors/manufacturer for a new roof. Looking at the Owens Corning Duration "Driftwood" and GAF Timberline HD Weathered Wood. The OC Duration looks to have a lot of contrast in the tiles, while the Timberline seems to be more simple. Any suggestions on quality, look, etc... We are also trying to pick out a new paint color for the house and am leaning towards a neutral pallete, like a warm grey, grey taupe, something along those lines. Would either of the roof color choices work? Am wanting a look that has contrast ... don't like when the roof and house body color look the same... Help!!!! Don`t have a color chart for those roof colors but sounds like it would make the house blend into the background and disappear. Decide on the house color first then take a good size color swatch and pick the roof color. You need a good contrast to make the house stand out.
What part of the house will you be painting? Just the trim and maybe the peach colored part on the left or all of the white stone facade? Driftwood Photos Weathered Wood Photos
We have always been advised to keep the brick near the entry way (painted white now) white or a contrast from the rest of the house (which is stucco). Don't know if that was good advice or not but that's what we did last time we painted. What do you all think? Here are the roof colors we are choosing from. Thanks for your help! Take a look at the two links I posted earlier. They show both roof colors on an assortment of homes with different brick colors. Some look better than others. I thought the peach colored section was Stucco but couldn't tell exactly.
