Just a couple of pics of the nice things the kids made to scoff over the Christmas hols. There is Scottish shortbread, a Christmas choccy log, a ginger bread polar express and James made the mini Christmas fruit cake at school. All are delicious.

My goodness those really do look good. I love a good shortbread and the chocolate log looks good too. What are the snowman and polar bears made from?

Great looking treats. I made my sister-in-law, who's from Scotland, some Scottish shortbread for Christmas. She said it was good, but doesn't look nearly as good as your presentation!

The polar bears and snowman are made from white modeling icing, fondant icing we call it. The kids saw cookery show on TV where a lady made them and of course, they wanted a go.

Mum gave me her shortbread mould to create the lovely thistle treat, and it is soooooooo moreish. :)

How yummy! Your shortbread is very pretty and the kids' creations are too. They're clever little ones, arent'they?

Do you know that I've been looking for a thistle shortbread mould for ages and have never been able to find one!! You'd think the shops in Edinburgh would have them as we have some of the biggest Scottish shortbread manufacturers there. Yours looks so delicious EJ that I wish I could reach into my computer to try a piece.

The Christmas choccy log, a gingerbread polar express and the mini fruit cake all look wonderful. :D
