Are you bothering this year? Our local village has a lot of lights strung down the length of both sides of the street and they are up in the nearest town. In our road a lot of house do bother. As the houses were all built at the same time to the same plan they all have similar front door arrangements, so these get similarly lit. Though some residents string more lights to the eaves, or around the bay windows and a few have features lit on the small front lawns, it can look very festive. So today I made the effort But this is a far as we go. We don't have a tree or other decorations, but we do string up the cards.
My Bride likes your decs. We will put up a moving snowflake light outside. That’ll be about it for us. Happy Christmas. I am asking folks not to send cards this year...an e-mail will do.
Riley, I love the beautiful simplicity. Nothing else is needed. Sjoerd, I too have decided less is fine. A wreath on the door may be enough. I always say no cards this year. Then I send to everyone. I like best the year I create a poem and type it on each card.
That is so thoughtful of you. A poem. Great idea. If I send cards this year, it will be e-cards that I throw together myself.
Stepson has started now ! His house looks like the North Pole ! Inside is amazing ! Christmas is popular here ! No scrooges live here !
Sjoerd, I may do the same, but many on my list do not have internet service. In the mountains of South Carolina and Tennessee, the internet has passed them by. AT&T may serve the area, but slow as molasses in winter.
Mart, I may put up a wreath, but little else. We gather at my children's homes, so things have changed.
