I started digging the circular flower bed today. I didn't get too far. It doesn't have to be done all in one day though.

It doesn't look much like a circle but I will make it more of a circle as it gets bigger. I will need to add some more of Glenda's compost. By the time she comes home she will have to come here after some if she wants any. I will have moved it all over here.
I watered things in the little plastic house so took a couple of pictures in there.
The lettuce in the first tub is still growing and the basil is doing well. Every time I think I will move it to the porch we get a cold day. It's supposed to go down to 37 on Monday night. Only 65 during the day.

The new tub is doing well. It has spinach, beets, radishes and somewhere more lettuce.

The morning glories are starting to grow up the fence along the front porch.

Along the end of the porch the cucumbers are starting to come up.

I saw one bean is coming up on the other end of the porch. I hope it won't be by it's lonesome. No picture of the bean.
I found a red flower about to bloom. There will be quite a few of them, I think. I will post another one when it does bloom.

As I was coming back inside I stopped and took a picture of the frogs guarding the entry. Those dianthus are doing well.

And another yellow flower, but not in Chance's garden. I think the birds planted these because I did not.

I'll try again tomorrow to dig around the windmill though it is supposed to be windy again.

Looking good Dooley, what are you going to plant in the new circular bed? Maybe a vine up the windmill?

There are sunflowers coming up all over my yard from the sloppy birds at the bird feeders. I dug up about two dozen of them and replanted them in an old wagon.

A vine on the windmill would get tangled up and stop the windmill! I think taller plants around the windmill and shorter ones on the outside. Dooley everything is looking great. That lettuce looks yummy. :p

If you keep the vine trimmed back or redirect the vine as it grows it won't get tangled. I had two potato vines on mine a few years ago, just had to go pull them away or cut them off a few times during the summer.

I'm really awed by the growing speed of everything. I guess it's the combination of your TLC and Glenda's compost. Good luck with the circle. Looking forward to seeing it done.

I certainly didn't expect everything to be so far forward in your garden already Dooley. Most of my plants, apart from spring bulbs, have a long way to go before they reach the flowering stage. I'm eager to see what you'll be putting in the circular bed too. :stew1:
