I have just a few Clematis's now, I am in the process for re-building my collection. I would enjoy seeds from anyone, and will trade back and forth.

The groups I am looking for are, Tangutica, Texensis, Viticella, Alpina, and Atragene. And feel free to surprise me with seeds form odd Clematis also.

    Thanks

    Mike

    starting clematis from seed

Barb, The clematis seeds are incredibly temperamental, but you can either winter sow them or put them in the potting mix and freeze them for 3 months. Then they may take up to 6 or 8 months to germinate. I don't get enough cold here to stratify them so I have to freeze them. Here is a website that may help:http://www.earthnotes.tripod.com/seeds.htm
    I hope it helps, Seedfreak
