I had a meeting in town last night and had taken the Jeep. Had it i 4 wheel going out the driveway, but our road was just wet, so I shifted back into 2 wheel. I pulled out onto the highway and started across the bridge and hit black ice. Started fishtailing back and forth across both lanes. Luckily no traffic in either direction. I got it into 4 wheel and got pulled out of it. Turned around and came back home. No damage and no injuies. Just scared the crap out of me. I came really close to doing a 360.
That black ice is really dangerous, very good thing you were in the Jeep with 4WD. Glad to hear you made it back home safely.
Thank goodness you kept your head and managed to pull out of it. I'd have gone back home too. Black ice is so treacherous and at night is doubly dangerous.
I hate it when the car suddenly decides to either go home or go somewhere else other than where I intended it to go. I haven't had it happen to me since we got the Subary, fortunately. I'm glad nobody else was on that road, and I'm glad you turned back.
