Isn’t it strange that people come from around the world to see tornadoes thru tour groups hoping to see one live. Tornadoes appear 99% of the time in the US. Mostly because there's a wider window for the right conditions that cause them , like humid air coming up from the south to displace colder systems. Most tornadoes are found in the Great Plains of the central United States – an ideal environment for the formation of severe thunderstorms. The area is known as Tornado Alley, storms are caused when dry cold air moving south from Canada meets warm moist air traveling north from the Gulf of Mexico. Weather - climate change has increase the impact of these storms that cause extreme occurrences and more powerful tornadoes.
