I saw this growing in a neighbors yard. What is the name of this plant?

Pieris japonica, or lily of the valley bush. Comes in a maroon flowering variety also. I really like these too.

Thanks everyone. I have only know it as Japonica. Good to know the proper name.

We have two in our (New England) yard and they are very easy to grow and lovely to look at. Good luck!

Saw one at the garden centre last year and I remember the smell ... heavenly!

Pieris japonica or Japanese Andromeda, I have had two for 20 years. Great when the leaves turn red. There are 7 species in the family Ericaceae.

Jerry, I didn't know some had leaves that changed color too. Mine are all evergreen. Having that extra bonus of leaf color would be really nice.
