Are coffee grinds ( used) good for my roses? We have a Keurig coffee machine and I have lots of the little "pots" left after each coffee. I was wondering if the grinds are good for anything. :?:
Coffee grounds are usually very acidic and since they have been used there isn't much nutritive value left in them. Why not add it to the compost instead of straight onto plants? Especially Roses which prefer slightly acidic to neutral soil. Do you drink the flavored coffee? You might want to find out what kind of chemicals were used to make the flavors before adding to compost or plants.

I know my little old neighbor lady has the local cafe save grounds for her. She throws buckets of them into her big old composter
We get coffee grounds from the Dairy Queen, and put them into the compost. I don't put them directly around plants, but they are great in the compost!
I also put grounds in my compost piles. And make "compost Tea" in summer to water flowers and veggy Gardens
I grow and have over 100 Roses.(Zone 8) I have been using left over coffee and grounds for many years on my roses and have never had any issues.I recently planted a bare root rose using Alfalfa- llama Poop, coffee grounds and old apple peelings in the planting hole. Cleaning out my rose bed, i put old coffee grounds around the base of each rose before applying mulch.

(Coffee grinds) I've heard Hydrangeas turn their blooms from pink to blue... many people wanna have them in blue! At least around here.
Great posts...I drink coffee daily, several times, and have been adding the grounds to the compost. I am going to dig a few into the soil around my camellia also.
I have always placed used coffee grounds around my roses also. I learned it from my 80 year old aunt. Earthworms love them too.
I put coffee grounds and tea bags in and on my blueberry bed. Sometimes I am to lazy to get it that far and just toss them right in the garden.
