It's 50 deg. F. and a steady drizzle for the first day of Fall. It's great for the old artheritis!

The last few days have been washouts though the temps have been mild, a walk in the garden is a wet affair. :-( Seed gathering has come to a standstill and more rain is in the forecast. Maybe I will hunt for a weather station with sunnier news :)

    No wooly bears yet.

Jerry, No wooly bears here, either. My husband is worried that they know the winter is going to be so bad, that they have traveled SOUTH.

I think the idea of finding a weather station with sunnier weather is a great idea. let us know how that works for you. :D

Rain, mist, fog, rinse and repeat. All day long. Clouds started breaking about 4PM. Bits of sunshine here and there. I was out in it from 5:30AM til 3PM.

We must acclimate to winter weather! Resistance is futile.

It was in 60's early this morning and I put on a long sleeve shirt. It was sunny and warm this afternoon but not overly so. I was outside all day and it felt good to be able to be out and about without melting into a puddle.
I haven't seen any wooly caterpillars either.

It started raining and it's cold here too.
I've been seeing Wooley Caterpillars all week in my yard cleanup. They have very wide brown stripes this year...what does that mean?

The highest it got here was 59 deg. F and it started out at 53. The wind was out of the north/ northwest and fairly brisk. My left hip has been bothering me all day today.

Supposedly, the wider the black bands are the worse the winter will be. If there are no brown/orange bands the winter will be a bad one. The more orange/brown bands the milder the winter.

OK then...looks like Ontario is getting a mild winter! Mild winters usually mean a lot of snow...
