Hand made mugs!!!! Whenever we travel on vacation we look for a handmade mug to bring back. How about you? What do you collect?
Wrinkles and gray hair first come to mind. Assorted things to use as yard art when the right idea flashes a bulb over my head. Halloween things especially witches and black cats. And evidently mechanical pencils, the other day I found 10 of them in the pencil holder next to my computer. (I really love office supply stores.)
I s'ppose you could call it a collection. I've these.. and these.. My wife says I can't have any more as I've also got this and a lot of hi-fi stuff and a tenor saxophone in the front room.
Dog, our son has two keyboards, a synth and a piano. And assorted black boxes and all kinds of wires. Guess what he does in his spare time?
He has loved music since he was a small (hyperactive) boy. Music has always been a great outlet for him.
LOVE the pottery mugs. I have a fair sized collection too but do have to admit to downsizing a few years ago after the last move. Pottery just calls my name
I am very eclectic. Plants, art supplies, paintings gathered from travels thrift stores and family, southwest pottery, tribal wool rugs/bags from Middle East, cultural masks, donkeys and things mainly lamps from the 50s... If it’s old I probably love it. My family is scared of what they will do if anything happens to me. I figure they will have choices: have a huge garage sale, have an auction house take care of it, start an EBay/Etsy online shop. I personally just enjoy the “stuff”, so it’s not a problem. I have reduced my books to just a few shelves.
I seem to collect old bottles. It started at our old house when we dug the first garden ... dug up a bunch of milk and cream bottles, colored bottles, and some old coke bottles. When we moved to our old farmhouse, I dug up more here when digging. This means I also collect dust LOL
I love antique pottery! It is hand-thrown and most of it is from upstate NY with the Albany slip glaze. A few of my favorite pieces:
Our house is built on what was farmland in the 1800s. When I was digging out our 5ft deep koi pool I found a stoneware half pint beer bottle with the maker's name on the side. It was in perfect condition. I washed it out and left it on a shelf in the hall. A week later, when I went to look for it, it was missing. I asked my wife about it and she told me she'd binned it as she didn't want an old beer bottle in the house!
