Wild! I have seen a few of these, as a matter of fact I can order the pheasants from a hatchery and raise them, but the cost is VERY prohibitive. Some of them are extremely different. the tail feathers make me wonder how they can fly.

There are certainly some weird and wonderful birds there Philip. I wouldn't mind a few of the Bleeding Heart Pigeons or the Nicobars visiting my garden. It would certainly make a change from Wood Pigeons we get wouldn't it?
I've never seen a two-tone Peacock before. In fact I've never seen any creature that was half albino. As for the Polish Chicken ... well that is one strange bird!! I don't think I could ever have dreamt up something that looked like that - could you? :-D
The Flamecrest is very similar to our Firecrests and Goldcrests. They appear to be of a similar size and colouring and are very attractive little birds.
I have seen both types of Pheasant and some of the other birds before but, sadly, only in zoos. I'm sure they would look so much better in their natural environment with their gorgeous colours.
Oh before I forget I think The unidentified bird is a Lesser Bird of Paradise.

Looks like Mother Nature got carried away with the crayon box on some of them! :-D
Very unique and beautiful creatures. Thanks for sharing!

I am always in awe of the colours on those Bird Of Paradise,..as for the Pheasants,.. some very colourful ones i have come across in various zoo's.

Some of my friends breed Pheasants then release them to the wild,..now and then a strange coloured one pops from an egg,..they go to the people who keep fancy Banthams.

Those Bleeding Heart and Nicobar Pigeons sure would brighten up our Wild Pigeon,..(Woodquest) population,..though i spotted some Doves on my doggy walk.

We have a small bird visiting my garden,..at his peril i must add,..someday i will get a picture of him,..its a Male Siskin,..like below.

Philip every winter we have a small flock of siskins in the garden. They come along with redpolls and long tailed tits and certainly brighten up the cold winter days.

Hi, what beautiful bird pictures you have shown us, I am a real bird fan and I thought our birds here in Australia were pretty good...but those are just incredible colours....truly amazing!
I used to keep white homming pigeons in my garden which I really enjoyed but after the last one died I decided to give that hobby away, they lived for an average of 12yrs, they were beautiful though. Each one had their own personality and became like any other pet...members of the family.

Delighted you all enjoyed those colourful birds,..don't we all wish to have some of those visiting our gardens,..though i think members in Australia,Pakistan, and Africa would be satisfied with the variety you have,..its far beyond ours this side of the pond.

Philip here are a couple of shots (taken last winter) of both redpolls and siskins visiting the garden.

Poor wee things were rather wet after being caught in the snow.

They soon made up for being soggy once the thaw set in.

Long Tailed Tits (also taken after the thaw.)

Sadly I haven't seen a Yellowhammer in the garden for quite a number of years now.

Remarkable foto's of those exotic birds. They are indeed birds that one doesn't see every day.

Eileen's pics were nice to see as well.

    All-in-all--a very good posting.

Beautiful birds...I loved the black and white chicken too.

eileen...I had so many redpolls years ago in the winter, and I haven't seen them since. I enjoyed watching them but not happy that so many of our American goldfinches ended up following or joining them.

    Hi Chocolate,
i did notice you are a bird fan,..having white pigeons hanging about the garden would be very nice,..i never kept pigeons but some friends did for homing and racing,..interesting hobby,..but for just being tame and in the garden appeals to me.
    ------------------------------------------------------

    Hi Eileen,
well captured shots,..i wish i could do the same alas with all my cats its out of the question.

I was remarking how our two locations are not really so far apart yet there is a difference in our wildlife,..i don't recall ever seeing a Redpoll or a Longtailed Tit,..they are here but not something you would see everyday,..Yellowhammers i see often,..within a mile from my house there are two locations where the Corncrake can be heard,..sadly they are getting rarer.

You should post more pictures of birds you see.
    ----------------------------------------------------

    Hi Sjoerd,
glad you enjoyed both lots of pictures,..i would like Eileen to post more pictures,..they would also encourage me to buy another camera.

    ----------------------------------------------------

    Hi Sherry8,
so you have Redpolls as well,..that's something i didn't know,..i was surprised some time back when a friend in Indianapolis said there was a Robin in front of us,..i couldn't see a Robin,..there was a bird to be seen,..nothing like our Robin this side of the pond,..it was only then i learned that not all Robin's have a red breast.
