Columbine - Aquilegia caerulea

    I found this beauty hiding between the rhubarb and mint today. I don't know where he came from, but I love it! I think I'll move it somewhere more conspicuous.

    Wow, that is a beauty certainly does need to be out where you can see it instead of hidden away.
    Sometimes you never know what is going to pop up, huh?

    What a really lovely shade of blue Netty. I have similar ones but with pale blue petals. I love columbines (we call them Granny's bonnets here although their posh name is aquilegia) and have quite a few different ones in my garden.

    That's a pretty color Eileen, so delicate.
    I have a pink double Columbine on the other side of the yard but it's not blooming yet. I started it from seed from a single pink and yellow flowered plant from the old house, so it was quite a surprise when it first bloomed!
