Hubby told me to tell all to stop the projects or he's going to delete me out of GardenStew :D
He did a great job and all I had to do was fetch him a beer now and then. I painted it this morning and started the compost. Rain barrels are next project.

Awesome job! I love stand that you can just "wheel" right under. And such a cute paint job.
Tell your Hubby two things.... One:here's a beer from me... :sete_003:
and two: he's not alone... I'm adding this to my Hubby's to do list!

You did a great job, looks like I'll be updating Toni's composter once the weather cools down. Raising it up where you can get the barrow under it is a great idea.

I didn't see your questions on the other message, so I'll give what answers I can here.

    "Making compost barrel today.
How many vents do I need and where do I put them?"
I didn't put any holes in Toni's, there's enough air flow around the door flap,

"Will drilling holes in barrel be enough?"
I wouldn't drill any, it seems to work ok without them.

"Can I put earthworms, and chicken manure in compost barrel? "
Yes to both, but don't put in a lot of chicken manure at one time. It's pretty potent and the nitrogen content can be a bit of a jolt. Don't put chicken manure on your plants without composting it (or at least letting it dry and age), it's too strong.

Impressive results and for just a few beers, more impressive. Great paint job. Now, as long as my wife does not see this post I may be home free. :)

Donna I find that the more praise you give your other half the more he's willing to do for you. You'd better tell yours what a clever lad he is so that you get the rest of those jobs done!! We can't have him ejecting you from here now can we? ;)
I love the way you've decorated your composter and the stand its on. What a good idea for storing the wheelbarrow. Now it's a bit of garden art as well as being useful. :stew1:

That looks very pretty, almost too pretty to use as a composter. :D I think I'll show this to my husband. He might like the idea.
