Well, not so much my computer as my phone lines! Last nights lightening storm must have hit my lines (again!) and my phone line is just barely working. They can't come fix it until next Tuesday. If I'm suddenly gone, don't panic because I'll be back as soon as I can!

Netty, hope your phone line hangs in there until the repair guys arrive.

It seems to be OK right now, but I'm sure it won't last long before the next wave of static takes over and shuts off my modem.
My house was built in 1935 and the lines are probably not much newer than that! When I was on the phone with the phone company, she told me to go outside to the grey box with the Bell Canada logo and remove the cover and try my phone in the plug. My box is brown and there are only 2 wires inside, no plugs! I'm hoping they will finally update my equipment and that will finally be the end of my woes. My lines have been affected by lightening 3 times this summer, twice my modem was fried.

Maybe when (and if) they qpdate your 'phone line they could take a look and see why it's always your line that is struck by lightning. There must be something in this modern day and age they can do for you to prevent it happening so often.
Fingers crossed we don't lose you before Tuesday but if we do then they better connect you again PDQ 'cause we'll miss you. :(
