We have been having cool mornings here this week. Low'd in the low 60's. It's nice being able to have the house open at night and not run the airconditioner. I have split 4 trailer loads of firewood this week and have about 3 cords done so far. But that's only about 1/2 of what I need. Starting Thurs. it is not supposed to be getting hotter until next week. So I hope I can cut some more wood then.

It sounds as though your getting everything prepared in good time for winter CK. Let's hope the strong heat doesn't return until all the wood is cut.

Our short bout of summer is over and don't think we'll get any more really warm weather. You are sure making wood while the sun shines. That's a lot of wood splitting :)

We have had some misty cool mornings here in Essex, you can almost smell autumn in the air, and I am NOT READY! Summer can't be over yet can it? On the plus side, the apples and pears are all looking great and are going to taste great soon enough.

It has been an amazing summer here this year! The last 2 summers were cold and wet, but this one has been hot - I love the heat!! I am very sad to say that the mornings this week have felt very autumn-ish. And there have been other signs of fall - pumpkins ripening, birds flocking and maple leaves starting to turn red. I'm NOT ready!!!
