Here in my early winter garden ... June is our first winter month ... there are a few Cordylines and Dracaenas in bloom at the moment. I thought I'd share a few photos.

It looks like you have a lot in bloom for a winter month. Beautiful flowers.

Those are so neat to see. I have a Cordyline, but don't think my conditions will allow it to bloom. But at least now I know that they CAN bloom. I'll have to keep an eye on it... just in case.
Looking forward to seeing more of your winter blooms!

Cordylines never seem to flower here in Scotland - well maybe in a glasshouse at the Botanic gardens. How I would love to have them in my garden if they produced such lovely flowers as yours. The Purple King is amazing!!

Cayuga Morning, I am so lucky to be able to have something blooming all through the year. Wintertime here is just the best time for my garden.

Cherylad, we're so used to seeing Cordylines blooming here. I had never realised that the sight of a flower on a Cordyline was something special for those in the northern hemisphere. Maybe one day you will get to see a flower spray on yours.

Eileen, Cordylines do produce the most beautiful flower sprays. 'Purple King' is my favourite at the moment. The foliage colour and the flower colour is just brilliant.

Bernie... I have the "Red Sister" Cordyline. I knew it when I bought it that it couldn't withstand our winters. But I had to have it anyhow. I do bring it indoors or at least into the garage over the winter. So far so good.

That's brilliant, Cherylad. I've seen the 'Red Sister' here in the nurseries too. It has such lovely colours too. I hope it keeps on flourishing for you, and making it through your winters.

I like the Cordyline Red Wings flowers.

It was informative to learn that Cordyline is called Good Luck plant.
