Ok, I am really into photography and the other day I was outside taking pictures when I spotted this moth. I must say this moth really looks similar to the endangered Blackburn Sphinx moth. I would really appreciate some feedback about this moth and it's true identity. The one thing I found strange about this being a Blackburn Sphinx is that I found this moth in Alabama. Also this was a rather large moth.
Sure is.... http://www.earthsendangered.com/profile.asp?ID=7&sp=718 http://hbs.bishopmuseum.org/endangered/blackburni.html
Thanks, I think I am going to look more into this though but now I a little more convinced on what it could be. Just wondering how it got over here is my main question. lol
While looking into it more I think it could be one of these http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl= ... N%26um%3D1 They look so similar though..
I wonder if they have spread to the mainland without being found or if the two types are really close cousins. You might contact the people who run that first sight I posted and ask them for more info.
