Oh...I love to...not sure I would put that in my yard but it would be cute in front of a junk yard or car repair place.....
Along the highway going to Fredericksburg, Texas a few years ago there were a couple of old pickup trucks in a pasture that had been planted in. It made for something pretty to look at on the drive. I want a VW front end, just the part from the windshield forward to plant in. The city would probably complain but since I don't have room for one, I guess I will never know if I could get away with it or not.
Ha! I love it. I think I could pull that off where I live without the neighbors getting upset. I've been tempted to empty out a grand piano and turn it into a planter, but worry my students would insist on playing under it, which wouldn't be safe even if the innards were removed.
My junky neighbors have old cars in their pasture... wonder if they'd take a hint and plant them up? Nah... probably not.
Hey if one of you ladies do something funky like this or talk nieghbors to do this I want pictures! Haha. . Cheryl go throw some dirt and seeds in one and see what happens. Unless they are crazy nieghbors with mean dogs, then don't listen to me! haha I really like the vw's.... they are already cute with out the flowers. If I had one though id probably laugh myself silly driving it.
cherylad, And I wonder if they are reading this...... Mrs. Galeassi, I tried that with my neighbors empty lot but their weeds killed out all my seed starts. Now I wonder if THEY are reading my posts....
I've seen various things used as planters - toilets, sinks, boats, old carriages so why not cars? If I had a big estate I think I'd have a few of these dotted around. I like the first two photographs best of all. :-D
