    I believe it is a Magnolia but I don't know which one.

    Looks like our southern magnolia or saucer magnolia as most of us call them. The flowers get about saucer size and the center will eventually shed off after the flower. It is kind of pineapple shaped and hard as a rock. They are pretty but they do litter the yard.

    I think Mart is right. It does look like the Southern Magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora). We have a lot around here.
