Norway is in the beginning phases of a countrywide airline stike. So far 6 of the larger airports have closed completely. Oslo remains open but have had some employees walk off. More closed yesterday including the Leknes airport, Bodø is still open.

Why am I writing this? Josh leaves Norway tomorrow to go back to Iraq. His flight is from Bodø to Oslo. The 2 airports that have not closed as of yet. Oslo won't close. But Bodø might! This is mostly a strike by the Aivnor workers, and Bodø is run by that company. Now the good part of this is, after Oslo he is supposed to go on to London/Heathrow, then Germany. Both flights out of Oslo have been cancelled. So if Josh leaves for Oslo he will be stuck there till who knows when. I'm trying to find out if KLM out of Netherland has been affected by this and can't get any info. That is his only other alternative flight! If it is cancelled from the Oslo airport,,, OMG,,, Josh gets to stay until further notice...

So please keep your fingers and toes crossed. Hope for Bodø, or KLM to close or be affected........

Ohhh this is so terriable of me, but I want my son for another week or so,,,lol.

Well I certainly hope that the strikes last for at least another two weeks and that there is no way whatsoever from Josh to leave home. Fingers, toes, legs, arms, eyes and anything else I can can think of are all crossed for you Biita.

Thanks all,, so far it looks like all his flights will run. All we can do is call Bodø and see if they are going on stike. Hopefully they will have the new list of airports listed tonight if we can't find out from Bodø. But I got everything crossed that can be just in case,,lol.

I'm crossing too! Maybe there's still time for one or all of them to close.

I'm not sure droopy, he has 8-9 more months in Iraq, total of 15 months, then he will head back to the states for his next orders, which will probably be North Korea. He said most soldiers of the 69th div, get sent there, when their done with their tour in Iraq. So hopefully inbetween one of those times.

Blast I was really hoping the strike would be on for a few more days at least. I hope Josh has a safe journey and that the rest of his tour in Iraq is peaceful and totally unevenful.
