Crossbills return

    Had a male and female here for the last couple of days. This is the female, in the rain red crossbill.JPG .

    Yet another wonderful close-up. I've yet to see one of these amazing looking birds in real life. Maybe on our next trip further up north I'll be lucky. :fingerscrossed:

    what do they eat that they need a crossbill? I don't notice many here or maybe they just don't come up to the house....o_O
