Did you know that the White Gas Plant was cultivated at Monticello by Thomas Jefferson?

No I never knew that @Petronius but it's quite similar to an Astilbe plant.

My sister lives in Charlottesville, VA and whenever we go see her we always stop at Monticello! My mom has an oak tree that came from there and some other plants but I couldn't tell you what they are at the moment. I will quiz her next time to find out.

Euonymus alata (Burning Bush, Winged Euonymus)

One of the confusing things about plant names is that so many plants have similar or the same common name. It really is best or at least most helpful to know the botanical name too.
