We had two Curry plants brought by my other half and as they matured plus the sun being a bonus on the yellow flower heads...from the kitchen it smelt like Pot/Draw I soon had them out the garden
Now, does the curry plant get used in curry? I haven't heard of it before. I know the curry spice is made from several types of spices combined. Please enlighten me!!
Well I never used the plant for a curry but the leaves are used in a curry then removed it makes them stronger..the ones we had are "Helichrysum italicum curry plant" they adore the sun and they was just pleased having water in the ground just once a week and the sun made the flowers mature stronger...for usage for the plant the links below should help https://www.mountainvalleygrowers.com/heltalicum.htm http://www.onegreenplanet.org/vegan-food/curry-leaf-will-change-the-way-you-cook-indian-food/
Thanks Gail, never knew that another kind of curry plant existed. I had been eating curry all my life and only know of the leaves we used in curry is from this plant. Hello KK Ng, yes your curry plant is also used but the aroma off the ones we had was very strong ...you can buy them off ebay and the seller is from Essex in the uk https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=helichrysum+italicum
