I have a dahlia I saved over the winter and it started growing in the greenhouse before the weather was suitable to plant it outside. I went to plant it out and broke a couple of stems off when I was putting it in the ground. I see there are a few roots growing directly from the stem and I was wondering if anybody knows will these produce/form into tubers if I plant them in the garden? can I take cuttings and root them or must I divide them, should I divide them, how big is too big to just replant them as they are ? Just picking your brains. I have no experience with them other than that I bought them last year off the clearance rack and the beautiful mulberry color turned out to be orange  NOT what I was wanting, but it is good that I liked them.
