    Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by, "damping off", is that where the stem , leaves or heads of plants turn black and the plantlet dies?
If so, the most likely cause is botrytis, a fungus.
--The thing to do here is to promote air flow across and between your plantlets.
--Remove plastic bags or take the cover of a propagator off.
--Give your plantlets water from the bottom, do not give it on the soil above. Do not mist your suseptable plantlets.
--Keep the soil under the planylet clean and free of dead leaves, etc.
--Remove and destroy any parts of a plant ...or indeed, the entire plantlet if it is infected.
--Commercial fungicides are available, but use these only as a last resort.

    Success...

Cinnamon sprinkled on the soil works really well, also misting seedlings with camomile tea. Not had any problems since using these methods, good luck :-D

I won't try seeds indoors because of the damping off problem, they never make it to the ground outside. I wish you luck.
