    Some of my cats developed Cat Flu and i treated them myself,..same treatment as the Vet,..cream in the eyes twice per day,..the only cats to get it in the eyes were the two latest kittens,..the worst affected was the striped kitten and while i think i have bested the illness from getting worse the striped kitten may end up blind,..it is eating well and wandering about the place showing no sign of discomfort.

    The grey kitten,.."Greycloud" was showing only a touch of the illness and its eyes cleared up,..alas it died.

    some of the big boys and girls were sneezing,..the worst was "Smudge" who had clear snot running from his nose so i quarantined him,..he wouldn't eat and had to be force fed with liquids,..the good news he is eating and drinking,..no more snots or wheezing.

    Cat Flu is on the high list here in town.

    Sorry to hear that Philip. You keep your hands washed, too.

    Do you think they may have contracted it from a feral Philip? Cat 'flu can be a real problem if it spreads through a colony of cats. We have a vaccination here that's given to kittens once they are weaned that prevents this horrible illness taking hold.
    I hope all your cats come through OK and that the little striped kitten retains its eyesight.

    Oh Philip, this breaks my heart :'( I feel like I know your cats so this hits close to home. My "Spooky" cat has been sneezing and seems a little listless, maybe we have it too.

    Oh, no. :( I hope you've managed to stop it. Ours get vaccinated yearly against cat flu.

    Hi Toni,..its one of those things that hang about for a spell and can be picked up from mixing with other cats not injected against it though between the kittens are born and old enough to be injected that's when they are most at risk,..my oldest cat never gets it.
    =======================================================

    Hi Carolyn,..yes hands washed at every dosage and even use a different finger for doctoring each eye.

    =======================================================

    Hi Eileen,..most likely they contacted it from our feral and stray cats,..all my present cats are recovering plus the striped kitten was playing with the older cats today that's a good sign,..as to its eye sight,..there is a small chance it will have some eyesight.
    ====================================================

    Hi Deanna,..ah yes you do know my herd of cats very well,..you will be glad to learn that "Smudge" is doing very well,..improving every day,..your cat "Spooky" being a tad listless and sneezing hopefully is just a cold,..knock on wood that all will be well.
    ====================================================

    Hi Droopy,..at present i feel the worst is over as they are all eating and drinking,..however it sometimes comes back and then its very bad,..the big cats were vaccinated so they just get a small dose of it,..just sneezing,..depressed,..not eating,..but no swelling of the eyes.

    Here is a link about Cat Flu,..the picture is gross.
