My Night Beacon that I planted this year has a flower spike on it. Very early. It is a packaged daylily from WalMart. I am excited, of course the first daylily of the season always excites me, as does the second, the third, the forth, I think you get the picture. Gotta get a new photo site going.

I know what you mean about seeing that first lily bloom Sharon because I'm exactly the same!!! I always drag Ian out into the garden to look at it as soon as the flower opens. Being a man though he just says something like - "Well that's one the squirrels didn't get then." :D :D

We were so excited at work today to discover that all of the daylilies we planted around the office last spring survived the winter and are starting to show some growth. They are all the same Stella d'oro (my boss likes things orderly and not at all muddled) but they will look great when in bloom.

My daylilies are still just green leaves tentatively poking their heads up. But, the peonies I planted two years ago are looking good, and this should be the year! *toes and fingers crossed!*

I know what you ladies mean about Men, they really don't appreciate the flowers. I'm so in love with flowers. My husband just says yea, when I show him my flowers.

I've just been out in the garden and all my lilies are budding up nicely. They are soooo much taller than last year. Some are around 4' to 4 & 1/2' in height. I can't wait to see them all bursting into flower. I just know I'll be dragging Ian (and anyone else who visits - even the meter readers :D :D) to show them just how beautiful they are.

Eileen u r 2 funny :D . My hubby doesn't show any interest in my flowers :-? . He cant even remember the name as I talk to him about them.I do get asked how the vegetables and fruit are doing.I can't remember the last time he was out there :( . There is a couple down the road that shows interest because they work on there garden every weekend and some afternoons after work.

Richard usually walks the yard with me once a day. He does love flowers, maybe not quite as passionatly as I do, but he does love them.
