I wish I could take credit for these beauties...I took them while I was visiting Indiana.

Gosh those are fantastic Gail. :-D I wish I could grow dahlias here. The earwigs chew them to shreds though so I'll have to be content with looking at your lovely piccies instead. Just nipping off now for another peek. :D

I thought they couldn't get any more gorgeous than the first one... but each one was just as beautiful.

We visit this park every other year for a family reunion and I always look forward to seeing the new blooms. A tour bus pulled up right after I got there so I wasn't able to get a photo of the whole garden. :stew2:

Supurb dahlias, Gail. I really like them and grow them some years myself. The first and seventh one catch my fancy.

Sjoerd do you grow them from seed or do you buy the plants. I have not had good luck with them unless I grow them in pots, it must be our soil.

I buy bulbs and plant those.
I used to dig them up and keep them cool and dry over winter. Now I just leave them and if they die, they die...I'll just grom them later again.

Wow! Those are some very impressive blooms!!
What a beautiful place to visit. I'll bet they put a lot of work into growing those Dahlias.

Gosh, what heavenly beauties. :D The first and last one were the nicest in my opinion, but they all look good.

I've stopped growing them. I never remember to bring them in after the first frost, so I lose them. I think it's kinder of me to let people who take care of them bring them home.
