I wandered around the front garden to find blooms among the plants that didn't make it through the freeze last weekend. We have three more freezes coming up early next week so I figured I would take photos of them while I could.

The leaves are all gone from this plant but there are several buds and these two blooms....yeah, I know some call them a weed but I like them...

Two years ago I planted some Lily bulbs in this oval bucket, they came up but never bloomed last spring. In Sept I put the Chrysanthemums in the pot and since it didn't spread I added some Petunias in early November. I like this look.

Wow, You still have color to look at, all this in December!! I have several brown flowers on brown stalks with plenty of brown leaves. They seem to be winter hardy as the temperature has gone below freezing several times and they are still brown.....Spring is around the corner.........spring is around the corner..........s

Just what I was about to say Jerry. It's so good to see that someone has some colour at this time of year. I hope the frosts hold for a little longer Toni so that you'll have the pleasure of those blooms for a while yet.

So happy you still have a few blooms. The freezes also took out most of what I had left.

Those blooms look really good to my eyes at the moment. I'm just sitting here blinking.
It is so good that you still have some colour.

Lovely blooms. I especially like the colour of those dark Petunias.

I do hope you won't get that freeze. Your blooms are too pretty. I especially like the last photo. Couldn't you bring it inside or put some clothes on them or do something to save it?

Glad my bright colors made winter white a little less drap for some of you all. Bernieh, that petunia is Burgundy and getting darker with each night of really cold weather. I am definitely getting more of that one next year.
Some times petunias will winter over just fine here because we don't have that much cold weather, I have even had some that came back three years in a row...from the roots. I didn't think they were supposed to do that.

Droopy, never fear, the pots of Petunias will be in the back room under cover before the freezing starts. We have three nights of mid-upper 20's (-4 to -1C) and maybe snow flurries Monday night. I am so excited about that!!!!
