One of the local garden clubs decorates our Historical Society Homestead each year for the holidays and does a spectacular job. Here are some of their decorations: http://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/alb ... r_id=10953 Jerry
Wow over a hundred years older than the whole country. Beautiful house. How much of the furnishings are original to the home? I find it fun to let my mind wander trying to imagine what life was like in places like that.
The Barrett and Byam families lived here for over 100 years. Originally a salt box construction the house has had many additions and changes reflecting the needs of its various occupants. The homestead became the home of the Chelmsford Historical Society in 1968. It has been furnished with furniture of the period and houses historical artifacts and archives relevant to the history of Chelmsford and its residents. Jerry
It is nice to walk from room to room looking at the decorations realizing that almost 350 years ago people were doing something similar right where you are standing. Jerry
Those decorations are lovely! Your club does a very good job at decorating the old house. I can't pick a favourite so I'm glad I'm not trying to decide which one to buy and bring home.
