Leaves falling and every spider in the state has been in the yard! Kind of hard to steer the lawn tractor and mower when you are waving your hands around your head to get rid of all of the cobwebs!

Cobwebs aren't a sign of fall here--we have them almost year 'round! I swear I am a cobweb magnet, running into them on paths, in the barn, and even in the chicken coop. I thought our ladies would take care of the spiders in the coop . . . .
Hope you have a lovely fall, and please post some pictures of your fall colors!

Same here for spiders. I always like seeing them and their webs, a sure sign of the changing seasons :stew2:

I like spiders....outside. Unfortunately in the fall they like to come inside to stay warm. Then we are at war.

In the autumn over here I carry a stick around in front of me because I really cannot bear the thought of coming up close and personal with any spider! For the ones that venture indoors they have to run the risk of being eaten by one of our dogs,or at the very least have a leg or three pulled off  :p ,by which time they have usually drowned in doggy slobber though.

Spiders, not my favorite critter. Wisteria, was playing with one the other day. I went over to get it, put a tissue on it, grabbed and felt his hard large body. That was enough for me. I used the sad iron to do him in. I wasn't going to touch him. He was very very large. YUK.

I like the large ones, they are easy to see and you can avoid them!

We have been seeing a lot more webs lately. They seem to like to spin them right outside the garage doors, and we have to ruin them when we go out. I feel kind of bad for ruining those intricate webs after all the work they do! it's creepy to me to see the poor dead things all wrapped up in webbing that have been caught.
Speaking of fall weather... Thursday it was so hot and humid, I think it was 92F, and then Friday, the high was 64F. Big changes in 24 hours. Today is sunny and mild, but definitely has that fall feel to the air! (football season) ;)

    Spider, spider in the air
on silken thread we see not where
you land you land if you dare.
But noisy beast it travels there
it drags its prey across the green
with rounded feet and whirring teeth
to some lair as yet unseen.
Cold air will come, a chill wind north
Stay safe young spider, as you venture forth.

I don't mind spiders outdoors except for the ones that leave a mess on our front entrance siding...Because the entrance is covered they have protection. When I get them indoors I quickly squash them with even bare hands to get rid of them. I figure I would rather do it with my hands than have them get away to crawl on me later...it takes too long to get my shoe off...

Our trees are starting to change and cooler temps are on the way...lows in the low 40's and only highs in the 50's for awhile.

We are having some rain and storms tonight and the wind is bringing what leaves have changed down. Most of them are from Black locust so they are really small, about the size of a penny.

Fall is in full swing here. The vine maples are blazing red, mountain mahogany is turning burgundy and the aspens are turning gold. We'll be make our annual drive before long just to look at all the colors and I'll try to get some pictures of them.
