Oriental Smile 'Fantasy' ( photo / image / picture from drissel122's Garden )

My dendrobium orchid, Oriental Smile 'Fantasy' is blooming. It starts out with cream petals tinged with pink and then deepens to orange as it matures. This plant is a very reliable bloomer, once a year in mid-winter.

Thanks Droopy, One day I will probably try to include it in a painting. Right now I'm anxious for spring so I am beginning a few spring watercolors. It helps me bide my time until spring and I can get out in my yard. I have so many ideas for things I want to do this year.

OO what a gorgeous orchid drissel. I, too, thought it might be one of your watercolours when I took a look. I really like the thought of the changing colours of the flowers.
I have two surviving orchids at the moment (i murdered the rest but don't know how. )I've just ordered three tubers of an orchid called 'White Ergret Orchid' so keep your fingers crossed that I can grow them and keep them alive.

That is one of the prettiest orchids I've seen, love the color of the blooms. It would be a beautiful subject for one of your watercolors.

That is just beautiful. Those colors! The green of the leaves with the purple and yellow... beautiful. Great shot of it too, Drissel.

I really like the colour combinations of this orchid. It almost looks like you used a filter to soften the petals.
I like flowers with more than one colour.
    Very lovely flower foto.

Thanks all, this orchid is worth the year wait to see the blooms. I took the picture with my little Kodak Easy Share camera. I usually use the close-up setting for plant and flower photographs.

What a pretty den! The blooms almost look like a cattleya.
