Hard to believe actually, that such a mental ailment exists - But I guess we learn something new each day...

    https://phobia.wikia.org/wiki/Dendrophobia

I was basically searching online, trying to understand exactly what the heck is wrong with my next door neighbor - She's totally crazy I tell you, a true definition of what's known as a full blown Karen!

She hates me, and specially my trees. Because all my trees are over 35 to 40 feet tall. She even complained to the local administration, that my trees are too tall... At first they they too started scratching their heads over such a written complaint, (as growing tall trees on my own property isn't a violation anywhere in the entire world). But after a few more complaints from her against me, authorities too now start laughing at her upon sight.

I actually feel very sorry for her poor husband, as he unfortunately has no choice but to be supportive of her, (even when all she ends up doing, eventually turns him into a laughing stock as well)...

    :snicker: :rofl::smt044

Anyway to cut a long story short - After I told my lawyer to send a legal notice to her, (and her husband as well). I have not heard a single squeak from this Karen next door. Her husband too now can't look at me in the eye anymore.

    :smt005

Anyhow I'm sharing all of this with you all over here. Because I was truly amazed to learn that such a phobia of trees actually exists! I was searching online, just trying to figure out what my neighbor's problem really is - And I hit upon this... No gardener stays employed with her for long. As sooner or later she always starts fighting with them, (over pointless matters). Other domestic servants also keep quiting. And no tree over her entire property is taller than 8 feet, (she herself is barely 5 feet tall). Her trees also look so ugly, as they are all brutally chopped from the top. Those trees once looked very beautiful, when in the care of the previous owners. But ever since she moved in, her house is now a real eyesore...

Anyway I just found it very funny, that such a phobia of trees actually existed. I still can't stop laughing - And I just got inspired to make my trees grow even bigger. So have just ordered a truckload of fertilizer.

    :snicker:

Since this was a most enjoyable addition to my knowledge today, I decided to now share it with all of you also.

Your neighbour wouldn't like my garden as it's full of trees. The birds around here love them though and so do the squirrels so I think I'll be keeping them. :headbang:

My trees also have nests of crows, sparrows, as well as hummingbirds. But best of all, honeybees too are always building their hives in my trees - Mainly my Neem trees.

Most yards in our neighborhood are devoid of trees, ours was when we bought the house in the early '80s. Since then I have let a wide assortment of saplings live and we have some trees that are well over 25 feet tall and wide. Some of them are considered trash trees by the professional arborists but since they were freely planted by birds and squirrels and provide shade that has kept our electricity bill down to reasonable during the summers I really love them. They do make gardening with plants that require lots of sun a challenge but I still wouldn't change them for anything. and we have had a wide assortment of critters living in them and a couple of Owls too over the years.

Just look at it yourself, these drooping Ashoka trees should be over 30 feet tall. But she keeps cutting them down, the moment they start to grow a little above her compound wall. Notice the stem of the tree - A stem that fat of an Ashoka tree should be 4 times as tall.

Also look at the extreme left of the picture. And you'll see another drooping Ashoka tree which hasn't been cut. Stem of that tree across the street isn't as fat as those of my neighbor. Yet that too is 3 times taller.

    IMG_20210801_090350.jpg

Anyway just notice height of all trees across the street. As that's how everything else in the neighborhood looks. But for reasons best known to this "Karen" living next door - She yearns for a local legislation, which will force everyone to keep their trees short...

So far, everybody, from the people in the local administration, to nearly all of the neighbors, just laugh at her - While majority of us guys in the neighborhood simply feel sorry for her long suffering husband, (as he has no choice but to be supportive of his crazy tree loathing wife).

He actually now looks old enough to be his wife's father, while they both are of the same age group - Such is the toxic effect a perpetually nagging wife can have on an otherwise normal person, (speeding up the aging process, thus shortening an otherwise long and healthy lifespan)...

Those poor trees!! Karen should see someone about her obsessive behaviour. The trees look dreadful but, no doubt, her long suffering husband looks even worse!!

I think another reason for her husband's rapid aging, (and the sickly state of health of her children), is "Karen's" irresponsible use of pesticides...

She believes that pesticides should be applied regularly, almost weekly, (even when there are no pests in her disaster of a garden). She feels that such dangerous organophosphates are essential - Without which horticulture cannot succeed. Smell of such toxic chemicals actually gives this crazy woman a feeling that finally something right is happening in her lawn, (believe it or not).

She really takes pride in thinking of herself as an "expert" horticulturist. While in reality she has never even once picked up a spade, (she might actually die if someone made her carry a few flower pots from one place to another) - She just keeps on hiring and then firing gardeners one after the other, who do all the hard work for her. While she only keeps barking contradictory orders at them, (in her highly insulting tone and shrill voice). Which is why every servant within 4 to 6 months always quits while swearing never to work for her again...

Personally, I don't give a damn about what she does on her own property. It's her house, her garden, and her plants and trees, (and her long suffering husband)... It's really none of my concern - My problem is, why the hell should I and everyone else also must do things her way??? And if there is anyone who doesn't agree with her, (like me for example), "Karen" makes her husband go to the local administration office to file a complaint against...

Of course, it always backfires, as in the end people everywhere just start laughing at her. While she only pouts like a spoiled child when she can't have her way.

Because of her insanity, people do indeed start laughing at her husband. But this is something she doesn't care about. Damn with her husband's reputation - She just wants things to be her way!

People actually now laugh at her long suffering husband over 2 things - Firstly, she makes him look like he is her personal servant slave. Secondly, people also laugh at how he has no choice but to side with his ridiculous wife and her even more ridiculous and unrealistic demands.

The thing to wonder over here is, she is a fully grown woman. So how can a self respecting woman tolerate letting her husband constantly becoming a public joke like that?

But I guess "Karen" is too self-centered and spoiled to see this... Hence everybody now referring to him as her long suffering husband.

I could never see my husband putting up with me if I behaved like that. I think it's about time he stopped allowing his wife to bully and learn to stand up for himself.

No Mart, it's a drooping Ashoka tree. They are very common over here. They grow straight and tall. See their picture below, it's how they should normally be looking like. But this "Karen" living next door can't stand any tree which grows above 7 to 8 feet tall... Sometimes she says that big trees are bad, because they attract birds. And so she starts to freak out if she sees any bird dropping on her pavement. Other times it's some other equally ridiculous reason - She just hates tall trees.

She has an extreme case of Dendrophobia , an uncontrollable fear of big trees...

Anyway this is how drooping Ashoka trees should look like. They do not branch out, but only grow up straight. They are supposed to be tall, that's their exotic beauty. I think they are native to Sri Lanka. But "Karen" likes to cut off their top, so they end up looking like an ugly shrub.

You can consider them ruined forever, if you cut off their top. As these trees don't branch out. They just have one solid stem, which grows up straight. With small branches of leaves drooping from the main stem. They can grow to be 30 to 100 feet tall, (depending on the environment). But if you cut them even once, they are permanently deformed beyond repair.

He will never stand up for himself. His personality type can best be described as a wet noodle. We locally refer to such a man as "naa'mard" (eunuch)...

While "Karen" is ultra cantankerous and bossy, who believes that screaming at the top of her shrill voice is the best way of earning everyone's respect - The way she is going, I'm sure one day an angry servant will probably beat her to a pulp. Or she will get arrested if she picked a fight with a traffic cop. They now have female cops too, just to handle such misbehaving Karens on the road...

Because women like her often have another trump card to play - Saying that the cop being a man was deliberately mistreating them, hinting to make a case of sexual harassment against the cop. So 98% of the time, cops would rather let such a trouble making "Karen" go, instead of risking this type of a blemish on their service record. But now there are female cops everywhere also. Specifically to take down such "Karens".

But that still won't ever make her stop loathing big trees...

I think the best punishment for such a tree hating "Karen" would be if that Three House guy on TV could build a prison for her - High up in the California Redwood forest!

I'll gladly pay for the cost of construction plus labor, as well as the airfare - Whatever it takes, just someone please haul "Karen" and her cantankerous butt out of my locality!!!

    I KNEW IT!!!

She just couldn't resist! Look what she had her gardener do today - Yes, TODAY!!! I started this thread 2 days ago, as I knew she would soon mercilessly cut the top of her trees again. But even I didn't realize she would be this quick.

Anyway seeing is believing. So now all of you also know what sort of a ridiculous neighbor I unfortunately have to put up with... She really hates all trees which grow above 7 or 8 feet.

    IMG_20210803_125446.jpg

Blue arrow shows the mess she simply throws out on the street, (not in the garbage can). Inconsiderate woman...

    IMG_20210803_125920.jpg

Here have a closer look at how she constantly keeps disfiguring her dropping Ashoka trees.

If this isn't Dendrophobia, then what is???
