That Holiday Fruitcake has the same density as mahogany wood?

I watched a show on the History Channel this morning called American Eats, Holiday Eats. They said that the Eygiptians buried fruitcakes with the Pharohs to eat in eternity. And when they dug them up thousands of years later, the fruitcakes were still edible but hard as rock.

We haven't got those here, but when I lived in England I tried the stuff. I found it too sweet, it hurt my teeth. :D

I've never tried fruitcake. It just looks to sweet for my tastes.

I don't like it...never found any that was good ...if someone gives it around here, it is usually a joke and you just keep sending it from person to person...I have never heard of anyone that liked it..How about any of you?

If I get any Christmas fruit cake from anyone I cut it into little cubes and feed it to the birds - they love it. I'm more of a Madeira cake fan as I don't like heavy fruit cakes.

The ONLY fruitcake that I eat is made by 'The Collin Street Bakery' in Corsicana, TX. It is delicious. They are known of and ship all over the world. Perhaps some of you have heard of them!

The regular fruitcake has the weight of a brick!!
