We had two very long days, Friday and Saturday. I threatened the alarm clock and said if it woke me with it's beep, beep, beep this morning I'd throw it across the room. Then, I saw the weather forecast before I went to bed and it said 80 percent chance of thunderstorms during the night. I told Brian if it woke me up I'd have to throw it across the room. Well, about 11 pm it woke me up but I turned over and went back to sleep. dr said it rained a lot in the night. We got 1.6 inches. But, I didn't hear it or the thunder again so I didn't have to try to throw it across the room. It didn't keep me awake. I did sleep until almost 9 am when dr brought me a cup of hot tea. He knew I'd be awake because I was beginning to move again.
We had a day at the Medical Center on Friday for the yearly follow-up scans. More sitting and waiting than scans. It's drink this and wait an hour and injections and wait two hours. In between mammogram. Yuck! Nothing to eat until afternoon.
Yeaterday we went to the Midway Barbecue Cook Off. That was a lot more fun. I set up with my aprons and bags. Did okay with that, too. People kept feeding us. They must have thought we looked hungry. Three different contestants brought us smoked chicken, ribs and brisket. They wanted to give us drinks but we don't do beer and we took lots of water. I'm pushing fluids this weekend. Good thing the portable bathrooms were close to us.
We had a great time. But, we were wore out when we got home and I was in bed by 9 pm. Today is a do nothing day. Well, just the usual dishes, etc. We came home with a smoked chicken and 10 pounds of smoked brisket that had to be put in the freezer. dr says we'll have smoked chicken for Thanksgiving. We'll give the neighbor a couple of packets of slices. It's still cloudy but I'm awake now so I won't have to try to throw the thunder across the room if it decides to rain again.

Yes, Dooley, that was some thunderstorm! We awoke about 1 a.m. with lightning and thunder, then the thunder increased until it shook the house. Cat under the bed, husband checking for lightning strikes around here, and me checking windows to make sure everything was tight and dry. Lovely way to spend early Sunday morning!
Glad that the BBQ Cook-off was such a success for you, both for food and apron/bag sales. I can't tell you how much wear I've gotten from my apron and "big bag". Lucky purchasers that hit your booth!

Dooley... your "throwing things across the room" made me chuckle. :D
Our rains started around 5am, just nice gentle rain... no lightning or thunder or heavy winds. I didn't think to check the rain gauge when I got home, gonna do that in the morning. Hopefully I can sleep in - I'm bushed!

We are to get rain tonight. But if it thunders. Viszla dog jumps under the covers with me. Great hunter but Thunder and chain saw scares her

Our dog didn't like thunder either. She always barked at it. I guess most dogs don't like it. Maybe it's because they can't see it and it scares them.
