Good Morning; This is my second attempt so I will keep it short this time. Old time gardener not able to garden in my part of the world now so I like to connect with people about gardening. Pleased to meet everyone. diene
Welcome to GardenStew diene, glad to have you join us here. What's the weather like in Maine now? Happy new year! // frank
Hi diene, welcome to the Stew from north Texas. Happy to have you with us. Maine is someplace I would love to visit.
Maine in the winter Hello Frank & Toni; Today we have gone above the freezing mark for the first time since mid December. We have probably 18 inches of snow on the ground and some of it may melt. I was hoping for some sunshine so that I might be able to find my nativity scene and put it away but the sun has taken the day off. The clouds have the snow look but it is too warm so maybe we will get some rain which could help my cause. Toni, if you have not been here, it is a part of the world worth seeing. Of course I think you would be more comfortable in late spring, summer or early fall. We actually say we have four seasons here, summer, almost winter, winter, nearly winter. Our first substantial snow was in November this year and snow in April is not unusual. I love cross country skiing and snowshoeing so I do not mind the snow. I do hate heat and humidity so I could not live in your part of the world. We might have a few days that hit a hundred in a very warm summer but generally it does not get above ninety. As you can tell, I am house bound today due to a bad cold so I become rather verbose. Are you sorry you asked? Have a wonderful day. diene
Hello an welcome Diene, from the Norwegian Artic. Seems at the moment you have more snow than we do. I have none,, lol,, an i'm in the Artic. lol.
Welcome diene! I love Maine. My great Aunt (long time passed) had a cottage in Sebago. Last time i visited was about 12 years ago now.
Hi there Diene and welcome to our forums from Scotland. I hope the cold you have leaves you soon - nasty things to have aren't they? We have four seasons here in Scotland too and each and every one of them tends to have the same type of weather - rain!!
Hi Diene Welcome to the stew from southern Ontario! Your weather sounds a lot like our weather here, although we seem to get a little hotter each passing summer.
