The Bride and I took care of our neighbour lady's allotment while she and her partner were off gallivanting in Croatia and its environs. Yes, just start a garden and when the germinated plantlets send-up their first leaves and a heatwave comes at the same time as a never before recorded period of dryness…yes, go on and go on hols why don’t you.
    I teased her about this.

Well, she was appreciative for the work, and to show that, she brought back this, suggesting that one of us could ring it when it was time for tea. Cool.

it has a sound reminiscent of the bells that goats wear around their necks up in the mountains. We will take it along when we pick up donations for the Food Bank. we keep beside the entrance gate to our garden so that visitors can ring it if they want to enter. In the foto is where it hangs when we are not present.

    Thanks, neighbour lady.

What a lovely thank you gift! Not only decorative, but useful too.
We have a "chuck wagon triangle" hanging on our back porch. I use it to call my husband in from the workshop for lunch or dinner. Not as pretty as yours, but very useful!

Jane, where is the triangle? I see the two watchcats. I see a line, or perhaps electrical wire, but not the triangle. Where must I look?

Sjperd. the triangle hangs just outside the back door. Fortunately, Timi hasn't learned to ring it when she wants in. If she does, the triangle is coming down!

Ahhhhh. That’s a great bit of Americana kit.
I’d keep an eye on that cat, if I were you…know wadda mean, Vern.
    Thanks for the pic, mate.
